The Dilution of the EPA.

I remember the 60’s through the 80’s. I remember driving over the Androscoggin River and seeing the brown foam scum covering the river. It stunk. Today while it may not be pristine it is again a beautiful river with a growing fish population.

Anyone ever heard of acid rain and the impact it had on lakes in New England? I have and it wasn’t pretty. Air quality today is much better because of the EPA. Emissions standards for cars. I don’t want to go back.

Tell me MAGA supporter. How is this better?

Free Speech.

Donald Trump campaign on a free speech platform. He told us that his lies were protected because of his right to free speech. Fast forward to 8 months after his inauguration.

He has attached Harvard University supposedly for an anti-Semitic environment when they allowed pro Palestinian deminstrations. He defunded by canceling research by our most prestigious University because of a liberal bias.

He sued CBS for editing Kamala Harris interview. CBS fired Stephen Colbert in response to his pressure, because Colbert was a vocal critic.

He has threatened the broadcast licenses for ABC, NBC, and others.

Hearing opposing views is important in a democracy. Tell me MAGA supporter. How does this support Free Speech?

Immigration Policy.

We have all seen the pictures of ICE raids. Masked agents, without showing proper ID arresting individuals as they report for court hearings which might validate their status as residents in the US. Raids on businesses, schools, and more.

I have a hard time justifying legitimate law enforcement requiring masks and not showing valid ID. It is even more difficult for me to watch people’s rights as human beings violated. We are all diminished when the rights of one individual are unjustly violated.

Tell me MAGA supporter. How is this better then a full legal process?

Foreign Policy

Non other than Mitch McConnell recently said the worst thing that could happen is a headline that reads Russia wins in Ukraine, the US loses. Well the first is getting more like every day as Donald Trump touts his peace plan supporting Russia’s aggression. As he holds back US aid.

His stance on Gaza was Palestinians move out, we will build a Mid East Rivera. What gives him the right to displace millions of people for his building project?

I see no justification for his Greenland takeover plan or his Canada becoming the 51st state. Forget that Canada is a friendly ally. It also is 10 provinces and 3 territories. Each with an more automy than our states. Why would Canada ever agree to become one state. Quebec alone has a proud French heritage which separates it from the other provinces. Trump’s statement is just plan ignorant. I’m sorry there is no better way to express it.

As Trump imposes tariffs and risks financial ruin of the free world as we know it, he is catering to Valdimir Putin’s wish for the west to collapse. Whether intentional or not it is the truth. He stands idly by as India cuddles up with Putin because Trump is more interested in punishing its leader than working toward a solution. In our new global world isolationism by the world’s strongest nation is not an option.

So tell me MAGA supporter. How does Trump’s foreign policy make us stronger?

I must be ignorant…

Because I just don’t get it.
