A Day to Give Thanks…
What am I thankful for today?
The coronavirus pandemic has reeked havoc on our country. Before giving thanks, we need to remember those no longer with us. We have lost many to this disease. We are thankful for the coming vaccine, which provides a light at the end of the tunnel. But we must remain patient while it becomes approved and rolled out.
I’m thankful for family and friends. My siblings and I have been on the phone together more this year than any year in the past. Part of it is that our mother passed away over a year ago. But COVID also had an impact.
A local friend needs a special thank you. She has put up with this retired nobody, with little or no affection returned. While we have decided we can not live together long term. Having her here during the pandemic has been welcome.
Joe Biden.
I’m thankful for the election of Joe Biden. His tone of one America and a desire to work across the aisle is long overdue. As a true American I believe that in order for us to survive, we must find a way to emphasize our agreements. It is not our differences which make us exceptional. It is how we agree.
Let’s not forget those in need. More people are living in poverty or near poverty. Our economy may work for the elite, but is not working for those on the edge.
As far as sports is concerned…
My teams have not excelled. The long spring and early summer created a gap in sports. We learned new ways to entertain ourselves. For me it has been this blog, puzzles, reading, and exercise.
My Wish for Everyone
Is a healthy future and a jolly holiday season.
