April 3rd, 2020 – My Significant Other and I had a Test
We scheduled tests for 1 pm today. The instructions for testing:
- Bring ID
- 2 people only per car would be tested
- Report to an address near a baseball facility
We left home around 12:30 and headed for the address and arrived just prior to 1:00. We got in line behind a car which cut me off as they took a left in front of my right.
Signs instructed us to keep our windows up.
1st Station.
Instructions provided by hand signal had us place our driver’s licenses on the dash board in front and to the left of the driver. The first station checked out ID’s and determined that we had an appointment. The attendant wrote instructions for the directing our car down our path.
Next we were directed by military personal to get in line and maintain 2 car lengths between cars. Traffic cones assisted this process. The military personal served as traffic control.
2nd Station
We slowly moved toward the 2nd station. The signs indicated that this station was for personal identification.
At the 2nd station the worker looked at our ID’s went into the testing kit pack and removed a prepared testing pack with ID’s for each of us.
3rd Station
The 3rd station identified with a sign as the dirty area.
Still proceeding slowly there were several signs identifying the testing station and providing instructions. Turn off AC before rolling down windows.
When we arrived at the 3rd station we waited for the attendant to signal us to roll down our window. She took the ID packets attached at the ID station to our windshield and with a hand signal told me to roll down the window. test.
The tester using a long q-tip type swab, stuck the swab way up my left nostril, and turned the swab for an extended time. She then repeated the process for the right nostril. It was without a doubt when of the most uncomfortable tests I have ever had, because of the length of time.
And now we wait
The tester handed us a paper which stated that announced that it would take 5 to 6 days to get results by phone. Both negative and positive results will be provided.
Results April 8, 2020
By phone – Mine Negative. My significant other Test Invalid.
In between we were directed by a paper to a website. When we went to the site immediately there was a list of tests non of which were for COVID-19.
Earlier this week COVID-19 was there, but it then directed us to create an account and charged $103 for the test. After which I needed an invoice number to actual access further into the website. I was unable to find the invoice number on any of our paperwork.
While I truly believe everyone is doing everything in their power to get things right… There is a lot of moving parts which makes for a lot of potential problems.
