Trump’s Statement Thanking Grand Jury.
He Should read the report.
I did. It says very little. The report provides the Judge’s order to release 3 portions of the report.
Exhibit A of the Release.
This portion of the report is book keeping.
It starts with a summary of how and when the special grand jury was impaneled and worked. “This Grand Jury was selected on May 2nd, 2022 and first heard evidence on June 1st, 2022. We continued to hear evidence and receive information int December 2022”.
The exhibit follows with “our recommendations on indictments and relevant statutes, including votes by the Grand Jurors. This includes the votes respective to each topic, indicated in a “Yea/Nay/Abstain” format throughout.
The conclusion of this section is the following:
“The Grand Jury heard extensive testimony on the subject of alleged election fraud from poll workers, investigators, technical experts, and State of Georgia employees and officials, as well as from persons still claiming that such fraud took place. We find by a unanimous vote that no widespread fraud took place in the Georgia 2020 presidential elect that could result in overturning that election..”
Whoops, Donald Trump…
The grand jury finds insufficient proof that your statements about election fraud are valid. This is another 6 months in court, where you and your supporters were unable to prove your claims. This should be your take away. You lost the election in Georgia and this time the result was unanimous.
The exhibit indicates that Special Grand Jury recommended that the Fulton County District Attorney’s office issue indictments. Far from a “total exoneration.” More like maybe we will see you in court.
Exhibit B
“A majority of the Grand Jury believes that perjury may have been committed by one or more witnesses testifying before it. The Grand Jury recommends that the District Attorney seek appropriate indictments for such crimes where the evidence is compelling.”
Oops, someone lied. At least most of the grand jury felt this was true.
The rest of this exhibit is book keeping, thanking and praising the Fulton County District Attorney’s office. I find this interesting. The attorneys of the Fulton County District Attorney’s office supplied this text. A little self serving for my means.
The special grand jury requests the court to discharge them from service.
Exhibit C
Simple publish our report. Until then drawing conclusions that the report exonerates anyone is just plan irresponsible.
My Conclusion.
Donald Trump is again trying to get in front of the truth in a report. Just as with the Mueller Report, Donald Trump is lying. With the Mueller Report he used a Bill Barr misleading memo to falsely tag the report to say “No Collusion, No Obstruction”.
Now with a partial release of the “Special Grand Jury Report”, Donald Trump expects his followers to believe it shows “Total Exoneration.”
We have all heard the saying “Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me.” To those of you who still believe in Donald Trump. I say.
