Doctor’s Appointment
This morning…
I had my 6 month checkup this morning. The Doctor kicked the tires and listened for rattles. The result.
Blood pressure was lower than it had been in years. Oxygen levels and plus rate good. Four (4) lbs additional muscle since the last time she took me out for a spin.
Blood work and urine sample last Friday.
She had the results this morning, in my presence she reviewed my medications and went through the blood work. Cholesterols a little high but improved from last visit. Sugar levels high but minimal. Nothing to be concerned with.
The doctor also observed a marked improvement in vitals and what she observed as my outlook. The exercising is working. I am in much better shape than I was a year ago.
She took out her stethoscope and listened to my heart lungs and digestive track. No aaahhhh, as we left our masks on. Nor did she ask me to remove my hearing aids.
The result a clean bill of health.
I like my new doctor. She observed that I was doing well both mentally and physically. Her observations were based on the test results, i.e. science.
Starting Jan 1, a new medicare plan.
I’m changing my medicare plan starting Jan 1 to an advantage plan instead of a supplemental. I’ll spend less for the advantage plan with very little change in coverage. The new plan was discussed as well.
The big change has to do with drugs. I’m going to change my drug store. Little steps forward. The other change is the advantage plan requires referrals, so when I see my other doctors, I’ll need to call her before each appointment.
Other changes include coverage for dental, hearing, and vision care.
COVID Vaccine
Final discussion was on timing of the COVID vaccine. Currently she has none at her disposal. She also has not been vaccinated, since she is not affiliated with a hospital. I was placed on a priority list for the time she gets vaccine.
So while I haven’t got a date, I am on a priority list. My day will come.
