This is interesting. What to do about politicians, now at the head of the vaccination line, who have publicly dished science? I agree that it is hypocritical to give them early access to the vaccine, but it also serves a purpose.

I don’t believe in punishment, but I do believe in penance.

The first step in penance is to admit wrong doing. So to begin with, each individual receiving the vaccine should agree that the pandemic is not a hoax. Next, pictures of them not wearing a mask in public should be displayed. They must admit to their wrong doing and ask forgiveness.

The second step in penance is to change behavior. The individual then needs to pledge to wear a mask in public going forward. To listen to public health warnings and proceed accordingly. A failure to recognize the scientific community in the future requires a healthy predetermined fine. This fine would be a donation to a charity chosen from a list.

Next ask forgiveness and provide an apology. To get the vaccine, they should be required to apologize an x-number of people who have died of COVID-19.

“I am sorry for the death of a, who died of COVID-19. This death might have been avoid had I not supported negligent behavior. I’m sorry to the friends and family of a.”

The number of names would increase based on the severity of the transgression. For Donald Trump that number might 10,000.

Upon completing the list of names. The offending person could then get the first shot.

This process would begin the healing this nation so desperately needs.

I’ll add serious suggestions, if you provide a comment.
