Donald Trump used executive orders to govern. While Biden has used executive orders, he has also been very successful in working with Congress to advance his agenda. Even during his 1st 2 years when the Republicans controlled both houses of Congress, Trump was unable to get much legislation through Congress. His only major accomplishment was to reduce taxes on the affluent.
He was unable to abolish Obamacare, because he was unable to find a better alternative. His wall was not built in concert with Congress but by declaring an emergency and diverting funds from the military.
His leadership wasn’t based on the exchange of ideas, but on pushing his unproven set of ideas.
Herschel Walker was a great football player.
He is not a honorable man. Reports indicate that he mistreats the women in his life and lies about his accomplishments. The only true attribute which makes him a viable candidate is the support of Donald Trump. As such this is a defacto referendum on Donald Trump. My first thought on this race is if Warnock wins big, maybe, just maybe we can put to rest the future of Donald Trump as a presidential candidate.
For me it all boils down to the constitition and the oath of office for all our elected officials at the federal level. It is as simple as reactions to the events of January 6, 2021. Any elected official who voted against investigating the events leading up to the riot has failed to uphold the oath of office.
Education becomes more uniform and less expansive. In a democracy we need thinkers and leaders, not lemmings. We need voters who vote with their minds and not because of party.
- Yes, I vote Democratic and only Democratic in that way I’m lemming, but I also look at today’s environment and see Democrats offering solutions and Republicans highlighting problems. I don’t see Republicans offering real solutions.
- Anyone who doesn’t support a full accounting for the Jan 6th attack is breaking their oath of office and as such is unfit for office.
Certainly, I don’t see “The Stop WOKE Act” and the “Don’t say Gay” bills as solutions. I see them both as an attempt to limit discussion at a time when more discussion is necessary.
When immigrants arrive at the border, our first concern should be to comfort, to provide food, healthcare, and shelter. This is what the story of the Good Samaritan tells us. New immigrants often need assistance with health, food and shelter. Once secure, they need self respect. The best route to self respect is work.
As with so much in our country, politics and greed is getting in the way. Those making money don’t want major changes in our life styles. To be truthful everyone in the middle class and above will find life style changes uncomfortable. Changes to address this global problem will have unwanted consequences for everyone. That doesn’t mean we have a blind spot and don’t try.
It means we need to open our eyes and start the discussion on how to best move forward.
Donald Trump’s view on lying. “If you say it long enough, hard enough, often enough, people will start to believe it.” This is why Donald Trump still repeats the “big lie.” He has to have people to continue to believe him, even with a huge body of evidence that it is a lie. Donald Trump’s own words tell us he lies and repeats his lies to make others believe his story.
The economy functions like a ship. Once it starts moving in a direction it takes months or years to redirect. The FED is an independent agency which sets parameters to control money supply. By doing this it attempts to reduce the depths of recession and to limit inflation.
The policies adopted by any president require time to take effect as well. The state of the economy for the first couple of years of a presidency is more a result of the previous president’s policies then the current.

There can be little doubt that the events of Jan 6, 2020 were a direct attack to our democracy. The worst attack since the Civil War. On Jan 6, 2020 a riotous mob marched on the Capital in attempt to subvert the electoral process. They did that by overrunning the police and entering the Capital Building on the day the election was to be certified. The desire was to overturn the results of the election.
