For decades liberals have not spoken up because they don’t want to argue. My question is how is that working out! The answer is we now have Donald Trump as our president. In a vacuum the one who speaks loudest wins. We cannot be silent any longer. We must speak up and remain true to our ideals.
Donald Trump has been convicted. He is charged in at least 3 other cases. None of his cases has been resolved and the arguments Donald Trump’s lawyers make do not speak to his guilt but to technicalities. There is no question that January 6th was a riot and not a peaceful assembly.
No one, not even the President is above the law. That axiom was part of our schooling. The recent Supreme Court ruling giving the President partial immunity is contrary to this axiom.
Donald Trump is a bully.
Plain and simple. He vilifies those who disagree. Threats are his main tool and many of his legions of supporters are white supremacist. I consider Trump an elitist using his rhetoric to fire up his followers. Donald Trump isn’t about service. He is about collecting gold.
From March 16 to April 5th there have been 27 mass shootings in this country. In a mass shooting, 4 or more individuals are injured. These incidents included 22 deaths.
I see divisions between people and countries widening. This is not a solution, but a sure way to create conflict. I see a world where the cycle of violence increases and my goal and mission in life goes unheeded.
In truth everyone wants shelter from the elements, enough food for themselves and loved ones, good health. and can live without fear.
But a choice between a person with limited mental acuity versus one who is morally bankrupt is simple. I’ll pick Joe Biden’s memory over Donald Trump’s morals all the time.
Education is about learning how to learn. Exploring new ideas and learning to apply those ideas in new ways in the real world. Ignoring truth is not good education, but indoctrination.
What scares me the most about the conservative agenda right now, is the desire to reshape schools to limit the exploration of ideas. To discuss history as found in our text books, and to band books that will question the validity of those ideas.
With simple statements such as “all politicians are liars.”. I’d prefer my elected officials to be stretchers of the truth and not pathological liars. Donald Trump is a pathological liar.
His list of crimes against this country is long. Mitch McConnell in his speech following Donald Trump’s 2nd impeachment said. “President Trump is still liable for everything he did while he was in office, as an ordinary citizen, unless the statute of limitations has run, still liable for everything he did while in office, didn’t get away with anything yet”.
