Tom Brady
Superbowl LV Buccaneers 31 Chiefs 9
Every year the Superbowl is a major event. Commercials are created just for the game. The entertainment is always top notch with headliners both pregame and at half time. And then the game often flops.
The major exception is Tom Brady. He plays exciting Superbowls. His first 6 superbowl wins were by an average of 5 points with only one game being more than 1 score. All his loses are by a single score. One game went to overtime. All had at least some suspense.
The first game Superbowl XXXVI.
The Patriots were heavy underdogs. I remember a Kurt Warner being quoted that he wanted to be remembered as the quarterback who wins 5 superbowls. My thought at the time was, Kurt before you win 5 superbowls you have to win 2.
My next thought was he is not focused on the Patriots. He is already considering this game as won. Tom Brady has never made the same mistake. He always is ready for the game. The exception might be the 18-1 season.
The end of the game…
The Rams scored late in the fourth quarter to tie the game. The Patriots had no timeouts. John Madden predicted that the Patriots would take a knee and run out the clock. We learned then that Tom Brady was ready for prime time.
With little time on the clock, Brady drove the team down the field for a field goal as time ran out.
Now 19 superbowls later…
Tom Brady has played in 9 of them. He is the only quarterback to repeat has champion over that time. So in twenty years, Tom Brady has won 7 superbowls. No organization has won more than 6 in 55 years.
Tom Brady…
To slow but with quick feet to avoid the rush. It took him 19 years to rush for 1000 yards. For most of his career some other quarterback has been considered the best. First Peyton Manning, Brett Favre, Aaron Rodgers, Drew Brees and now Patrick Mahomes.
Tom Brady has beaten them all. The argument is over
Tom Brady is the GOAT
As the Patriots commented yesterday “Congratulations to the Greatest of All Time”
