Vaccinations Started
Most Exciting News in a Long Time
But it doesn’t mean we should let our guard down. What it means is now is the time to renew our dedication. Wear a mask for our own and others protection. It means if we don’t get COVID before our vaccination, we will have beaten this virus.
A lot of people have not. The cases between now and our own Vaccine Day, are preventable. These are people through our own negligence might have lived. It just did not and does not have to be this bad.
All we need to do is look at countries such as South Korea or New Zealand handled the pandemic. Each case was meaningful. Quarantine were required for every exposed person. This helped protect their friends, family, and coworkers. The case numbers were low and with each case testing was prominent.
I blame Donald Trump…
Yes, he deserves credit for vaccine. But never should we consider the proposal to name it after Donald Trump. Too many researchers worked long hours to give credit to a science non-believer. This work in developing the vaccine would have occurred without Donald Trump. It was just too important. Trump and his Coronavirus task force can take credit for taking the vaccine from the lab into each and every arm in the country.
Up to now, Donald Trump is wrong on his handling of the coronavirus. He admittedly downplayed the virus from the beginning. He waited to support robust testing until it was too late, and then he encouraged unsafe behavior. Far from being a leader, his handling of the pandemic has cost many American lives and borders on criminal.
We can not afford another round of Donald Trump.
But for now.
Be safe, protect yourself, your friends, and your loved ones.
Wear a Mask.
Social distance and enjoy the holidays. This time we are not rounding the corner. There is a light at the end of the tunnel and this time it isn’t the light of a train heading our way.
