- Currently many states in Republican Control States are passing laws which make it more difficult for working people to vote, by limiting hours and polling places in urban areas.
Summary…
Democrats.
I find the democratic positions much more positive. The positions are on an eye to building a better future. They look to learn from the past and correct problems.
For the most part Democrats want to balance budgets, they are no longer the tax and spend party which existed after WWII.
The Democrats have evolved from the party which pandered to a white supremist southern democrat. To a party which stands for the ideals. In so doing they have lost the south to the republicans.
Republicans
I find the republican positions much less focused on the future, but recreating a past which was never as great as the stories we tell. The positions are based on finding scape goats for the problems and punishing those who are in need.
In recent the past, republicans have not done a good job of championing a future. In 2020 they didn’t even provide a platform. Mitch McConnell’s top goal for the Biden presidency is to not give him any victories.
When Donald Trump was first elected his first priority was to scrap Obama Care. He touted a nonexistent plan which would be great. This plan was never unveiled because he didn’t have any plan except to get rid of Obama Care.
In truth the Republican party has just become the against party with no real plan. They can’t break promises because they don’t make any.
Conclusion.
True freedom is in trouble. Gun rights are a freedom, but so is a woman’s right to choose, demonstrating against existing police brutality, and wanting a job which will support yourself and your family.
If we continue on the path the republicans are suggesting our middle class will shrink further. Service jobs will become less viable and education will become unaffordable for most of those in need.
I know the economy is much higher on everyone’s list, but I’ll address my reasons for placing this very low on my own list on another post.
