Vaccinations…
Vaccine versus Vaccinations: Definition of Success

This article in Vanity Fair describes the workings inside Operation Warp Speed. It shows how the HHS Azar and his allies defined success as Manufacturing a vaccine and delivering to the states. At which point it became the states and localities problem with no support from the federal government.
It also notes that at least 2 states, West Virginia and Connecticut were able to pick up the ball and execute a vaccination plan.
The problem is logistics. The Trump administration felt that it was up to the states to receive the vaccine and provide vaccinations. The federal government had no roll. Getting the vaccines to the states was planned and has functioned reasonably well.
What the CDC called the last mile was not. It is the difference between having a vaccine and getting a vaccination. This last step was not planned.
Private Enterprise Pharmacies…
There was a rough plan to use the private sector to distribute the vaccine and provide vaccinations. The problem is the scale. Each year it takes months to administer the flu vaccine through pharmacies and medical centers. The plan was basically to remove the medical centers from the equation and go right to the pharmacies.
The flaw was there was no master plan, but just a rough guideline. As we enter the 3rd month of vaccinations the situation is getting better. Still to be resolved is getting shots into the arms of minorities and rural communities.
Yes, manufacturing and distribution needs to continue, but a smooth supply chain to distribution centers is only part of the problem.
Sell the vaccine.
Everyone should get their shots, if it is safe to do so. I find the evidence so far compelling. The numbers are 2 and 460,000. 460,000+ are the number of COVID-19 related deaths. Two (2) people died shortly after getting vaccinated.
At this time we know of 26+ million known cases in the US of COVID-19 and 36+ million vaccinations. The numbers are clear. Vaccination is safer than COVID-19.
So when your turn comes.
