Not Guilty

Because the Senate Does not Have Standing…

There was a vote earlier in the week where the majority of Senators determined that the Senate did have standing. Mitch McConnell failed to recognize the rule of the majority. He made a partisan decision.

A trial was not necessary to prove that point, which even Mitch McConnell recognized in his post impeachment vote speech.

But Mitch McConnell requested that the House act slowly. He as majority leader of the Senate requested a delay until after January 20th. After an insurrection Mitch McConnell asked for time.

The US Capital was Attacked by Donald Trump Supporters.

Congress did not wait to declare war after December 7, 1941. The decision was clear. Japan had entered into war. On January 6, 2021 a president of the United States incited violence against another branch of government. Congress did not need time to act. The facts were clear.

But Mitch McConnell asked for time.

He then used that time to defend a Not Guilty verdict.

Shame on you Mitch McConnell.

Make no mistake Donald Trump is a bully. Mitch McConnell’s response to the bully was to act like a jellyfish. He found a reason not to find him Guilty as charged while still trying to denounce the bully.

Bullies don’t worry about jellyfish. They ignore them. Donald Trump got from Mitch McConnell just what he wanted. Just as he said the Mueller Report vindicated him, his non-impeachment will embolden Donald Trump.

Mitch McConnell wants the justice system to prosecute Donald Trump. The non-impeachment makes that more difficult. Remember 44% of Americans still support Donald Trump.

I still don’t see a jury in any state of the United States finding Donald Trump guilty of jaywalking much less white collar crimes which are difficult to prosecute. Just as in the Senate, beyond a reasonable doubt will be a high bar. A bar Donald Trump and his lawyers will use smoke and mirrors to make near impossible to obtain. And even if the trial proves, the juries are likely to include die hard Trump supporters.

During his first presidential campaign he said he could shot a man on 5th Avenue in New York in front of witnesses and avoid conviction. These trials will not be as blatant. They will be financial figures with fudging. Donald Trump will say it makes him smart, but not criminal. He used the system.

Just like he has used his supporters.

A trip from Lindsey Graham to request Donald Trump be silent won’t change a bully. Donald Trump enjoys the limelight. He won’t be silent because a supporter asks him. He will discard the supporter.

History tells us, Donald Trump will do anything

In order to get what he wants. Including sending a mob to the US Capital to undo the results of an election. This should sound familiar. One of Donald Trump’s heroes came to power using similar tactics. That hero was Adolph Hitler.

So Jellyfish McConnell…

You voted Not Guilty on a technicality. A technicality you created.

I hope Justice is Served…

Because while your speech said Guilty, what you will be remembered for is your vote was Not Guilty.
