A week in review
Politics…
Another week of Donald J Trump as president, jerking the American People around. As soon as Congress reaches a bipartisan agreement, with the support of his Treasury Secretary, Steven Mnuchin. Donald Trump decides it is time to stir up the soup. He finally decides to say, he doesn’t like the bill.
His other messages, a typical Christmas message with family photos. I trip to Mar-a-Lago and several days on the golf course. I believe the president, has a stressful job, so yes he should have an outlet. So yes Donald Trump needs to golf often. Every day after Jan 20, 2021 seems just about right.
His other standard is to continually whine about the election. If he had been able to provide suitable evidence of wide spread fraud, I would be upset. The truth is there wasn’t and he hasn’t. He needs to get some cheese to go with the wine.
A Christmas with COVID-19
Christmas was quiet. I look forward to the day we can again safely travel and visit with friends and family. Until then, we need to stay safe.
I feel bad about the bombing in Nashville. Violence in any form is wrong. Fortunately, there was enough notice that there was little loss of life. The damage was devastating in Nashville. Hopeful repairs will be completed soon.
Auto Maintenance.
Today was a day to catch up on auto maintenance. My oil light had gone down to 20%. The first question I asked the service staff was what was the mileage the last time I had the car serviced. The second question was when.
The answer was under 2,500 miles since March. That averages out to less than 300 miles a month. Before the pandemic, I was averaging over 1400 miles a month. A lot different dynamic.
I look forward to traveling more in 2021.
Sports…
I’ve mentioned I like sports. Basketball, both pro and college are starting in earnest. Football is approaching bowl season and the playoffs. It is fun to be able to watch again. The pandemic provides an interesting dynamic. Many games have been rescheduled or cancelled.
But for most of us, Life goes on…
I offer my condolences to those who have lost love ones and wish everyone a Happy New Year.
