Repeatitive Behavoir
My own life experiences
I’ve been through a lot in my life. I’ve been married twice, divorced the first time and widowed the second. What did I learn from my experiences?
During and after the divorce, I was devastated. I considered myself a failure. My whole life fell apart. Family and friends were supportive, but also grew leery of being around me. My mood and discussion was always about how my marriage failed. My son and his needs helped me through this process, because I had to be an adult for him.
The one positive was that for the most part I did not speak badly of his mother in my son’s presence. Friends and family bore the brunt of my anger. My son and I, thank you.
After my divorce, when my second wife passed away, for the most part I held the hurt inside. I did express my loss, but I muted my feelings and for the most part kept them to myself. Life went on without her.
I find Donald Trump’s response to his loss disturbing.
Why? Because his behavior while predictable, mirrors my response to my divorce. He always prepared his supporters for this, so maybe that is why they don’t see it. His constant and public denial of his loss is boorish.
His preparation was impeccable. From the beginning of his first campaign, he marginalized the media. It was important to him that his supporters get all their truth directly from him and his twitter feed. He sowed distrust of the print and broadcast media.
His claims of fraud, while unfounded and reported as such are believed as truth because any reports to the contrary are obviously “Fake News.” It should be noted that in 2016, these same sources reported Donald Trump’s victory. I sure wish that it was “Fake News” in 2016 and the last four years were just a bad dream.
Information is the bedrock of a strong democracy
Information is necessary for an educated voter. The most difficult thing to repair after Trump, will be trust. For us to repair America, we must have a print and broadcast media which is trusted by a great majority. Believing everything we hear or see is not necessary, but there must be a basis of truth.
Partisan print and broadcast media is wrong. True journalism is news without spin. In todays world the spin has become more important, than substance. We receive our news with prejudged assumptions, edited to make our choice clear. It doesn’t matter if you watch FOX, CNN, NBC or others, they describe the news to form our opinion. This is wrong.
It makes the news boring.
I watched more news in the last year than multiple years past. Sports have always dominated my life. A game is real. It is a single event with an unknown result. Surprises happen.
The news is a repeat of a past event. In its very nature it is repetitive. Each morning I wake up and read about another Donald Trump tweet storm. He rants against the news and calls it “Fake News.” Someone new is a loser, scum, or some other form of low life.
The only one to trust is Donald Trump and his spin on the news. I’m sorry Donald, but this message has gotten old for me. I never believed you.
The media needs to turn you off.
Your rants are just a bad story which has become boring.
