The Obvious Finally Recognized
What a difference four years makes.
Joe Biden is now President-Elect, at least in the eyes of everyone but the extreme conspiracy theory believing Donald Trump supporters. I remember my feelings of disappointment when Donald Trump won the election 4 years ago. I was willing to accept the decision of the American People and move on.
It is time for Donald Trump and friends to do the same. Move on.
Trump resolved little in 4 years.
Health care is more tenuous today for more Americans then it was when Donald Trump took office. After 4 years, he still has yet to unveil his beautiful health care plan. You could still remove the wrapper and present it in 2 weeks. We have waited this long another 2 weeks won’t matter.
Donald Trump instead of working within the Paris Climate Accord has removed the United States from its voluntary guidelines. He has championed fossil fuels, fracking, and reduced clean air and water policies in place for decades. His policies push us back to the early 1900’s before unions supported worker rights.
Our position in the world is no longer as the unquestioned leader of the free world, it is as a mistrusted ally. Unilateral opting out of the Iranian Nuclear Arms treaty has not made the world safer. It has create a divide between us and our allies.
In addition he has obstructed justice while meddling in the justice department. His stance on social justice issues is that he has done more for “Black Lives” then any president. Some times he adds the phrase since Abraham Lincoln, often he does not.
While it is not clear if he is a racist, it is clear he is an elitist. His major policies reward the lucky few Americans who have become rich. The rest of us are “suckers” and “losers”. We are pawns to serve the elite.
Donald Trump has committed many crimes.
Donald Trump belongs in jail. He has committed multiple acts of obstruction of justice. His businesses are corrupt. The entanglements between his decisions as President and his business are numerous. Maybe the state of New York will be able to get the conviction he so rightfully deserves.
The truth is that I find it difficult to believe a 12 man jury of his peers will not have at least on blinded Trump supporter, who even presented overwhelming proof of his misdeeds will vote to convict him. The chances finding a jury which is truly impartial is highly unlikely.
Joe Biden and his justice department should ignore Donald Trump and his legal issues.
Joe Biden’s Priorities
His priorities must be:
- Deal with the coronavirus pandemic. It appears he will have a vaccine to prevent further spread and to finally limit death. For this the Trump administration deserves credit. But a vaccine was in the works before Donald Trump started taking the pandemic seriously. But China, far from being a villain in vaccine development should be applauded. China isolated, documented and released the genome early. This action facilitated Operation Warp Speed Distribution now must occur as quickly as possible. Arguing about a Trump versus Biden plan is futile. A working plan is a must.
- Economy is teetering on the brink. Congress needs to pass another substantial relief package before Jan 20, 2020. The package should direct funds to those who have lost jobs. The restaurant, lodging, tourist, brick and mortar retail industries need major help. Mom and pop is in trouble if not already broke. Congress help these casualties of the pandemic now.
- Build back better. This is why I voted for Joe Biden. His vision is toward the future not the past. He sees what we need for the next 50 years, not what we had 50 years ago. This vision will pump the economy up until it can support itself.
- Immigration Reform. How much both Republicans and Democrats agree on immigration reform always surprises me. The parties find it to their advantage to emphasize the differences and so the problem continues to search for a solution. We need a resolution to this issue. We need to stop arguing and pass a plan. Yes secure our borders, but also treat those who grew up here fairly. Anyone who has positively contributed to our society fpr decades are welcome. All that have been part of our past, need to also be part of our future. Getting this done, should not be partisan. It should be common sense.
- Health Care. I thought this was on the path to solution with Obama Care. How wrong I was. Obama care is no longer be viable thanks to Donald Trump. It took over 50 years of bickering to pass Obama Care. My hope is that we will not leave this problem to future generations. The things nedessary for all residents of our country are Food, Lodging, and when they are sick health care. The common good requires this for all Americans. To think otherwise is naive.
So Joe… You’ve Finally Won…
The work begins now. Let’s do something which was beyond Donald Trump. For my vote I charge you with the hard work. Let’s become a civil nation again. Together we can become a great nation again.
