Another Round of Yearly Appointments.
Today’s was the Urologist…
I arrived just about 2 minutes late. Today’s experience was better than the recent visits to the dentist. The waiting room was full, so I asked if I could wait out in the hall, I received an response of yes and provided my phone number.
About 5-10 minutes later my phone rang and was admitted back in the office for my ultrasound. After the ultrasound the waiting room was less busy and I sat to wait to see the Dr.
While waiting…
A woman on the phone decided she could talk on the phone with her mask below he chin. I finally suggested that she put on her mask. I was loud enough to attract the attention of an attendant inside.
When he came out the woman said I was being obnoxious. I stayed quiet, the attendant then requested she put on her mask. She replied by putting her mask over her mouth but not over her nose. He continued and suggested she needed to cover her nose….
It was good to have support that mask wearing is important.
After about an 1 hour and 1/2 I finally called into the office, provided a urine sample and was directed to a waiting room. Medications were discussed and shortly after the doctor came in.
Long and the short of it was that the blood work I had done (prostate testing), the ultra sound, physical examine all were clear. I’ve been declared good for another year.
The One Question I asked my Dr.
How he was doing? He smiled and said this last year was unlike any year he could remember.
Continuation of Dentist Appointment.
I’ve twice lost my temporary crown, in last then 2 weeks. While the final installation isn’t until December, I’ve decided to live with the hole until the permanent is ready.
To change the topic…
I found the following article today: https://www.vox.com/science-and-health/21546014/mask-mandates-coronavirus-covid-19 The article provides a bar chart of states and associated per capita infection rates. Those states with mask mandates are in one color. Seven of the top nine states with the highest per capita COVID-19 infection rate have no mask mandate. One of the two with a mask mandate, only mandates a mask in counties with 4 or more cases.
Several of the states with a low per capita COVID-19 do not have a mask mandate. The chart provides evidence that mask usage/mandates are a useful tool in slowing the spread.
