COVID-19 is Still With Us
Vaccine Availability Coming Soon
2,117 deaths from COVID-19 yesterday. 241,809 since the beginning of the year. Donald Trump did a good job battling the coronavirus until he took over the task force briefings. Since that time he has ignored the advice of scientist and done more to spread the virus then to mitigate it. Far from saving lives, he is responsible for the deaths of many Americans.
Yes, a vaccine is near completion. Our CDC director says that distribution of the vaccine will take time. The general public will get the vaccine not in late December, but in the spring. We still have 5-8 months of COVID-19 before everyone can return to life as normal.
The next steps
Wear a mask in public!. Our sore loser of a president provides no leadership. We need to take our lead from our President-Elect Joe Biden and be thankful he won the election.
Let’s do everything we can to mitigate the spread and save lives.
Masks need to be a long term medical health solution. Any time we are not feeling well, but continue activities, we should wear a mask. Think about our cold seasons. Wearing a mask is so much better than coughing into a hand. Wearing a mask is a long term solution for an old problem.
Yesterday’s Gloom…
To change the subject, I’m sorry to vent my frustrations here. The weather and Donald Trump’s hissy fit has me down. He now must cram 4 years of destruction into 2 months. The process started by firing key DoD leaders. The people now in place are weak links.
It is scary to think, how much damage he can do. I worry about his attempts to co-op the military and militias to violently attempt to hold power.
What will the next 2 months hold?
Will he undo the experiment started 12 score and 4 years ago? No I’m not Abraham Lincoln, but Donald Trump has claimed to be the best president in history. Looking back on the last four years, Donald Trump has done more damage to our democracy than any president including Richard Nixon in my lifetime. There have been presidents I disagreed with, but none that I didn’t feel had the best interest of the American people at heart.
Donald Trump is an elitist. He has praise for those who have and disdain for those less fortunate. Compassion and empathy are not part of his make up.
The Republican leaders have spent four years enabling Donald Trump. They either agree with the rhetoric (Lindsey Graham) or are afraid of the repercussions of his wrath making cowards of them all.
I can’t wait for Joe Biden’s inauguration in January
May the sunshine on that day. I know my heart will be lighter.
