My Next Big Effort.
And the confusion begins.
As I have mentioned, I moved to this year. The number of options available is greater this year than in the past. So now is the time to do a major review of coverage.
I currently have a Supplement Plan with no copays and no deductable. It is overly expensive and it may be time for a different analysis. Why does this need to be so complex?
I start with an understanding of what basic coverage is available.
But Medicare Advantage versus Medicare Supplemental which is better short term / long term. Can I go from an Advantage plan to a Supplemental plan in the future. What are we doing?
A single payer system would be so much better.
As we get older and retire, we may have more time to make these decisions, but certainly some of us are less capable of making decisions. While I don’t put myself into this category, I’m not necessarily interested in knowing all the details necessary to make the absolute best choice.
I’ll admit it I’m lazy.
A single payer system would take care of this problem. Once and for all and would solve the issue of losing coverage because of job loss. It solves the problem of pre-existing conditions.
Catastrophic health events is the biggest obstacle to individual wealth growth. A single payer system removes this concern.
But for now…
I need to review my options. I may blog further as I learn more
