Pfizer Vaccine
-80 Centigrade
That is cold. It is more cold than a household freezer. So the Pfizer vaccine will require special procedures for storage and transport. The logistics of this vaccine may make the cost impractical for use.
Moderna Vaccine
Initial Reports
The Moderna vaccine would only need to be stored at about -2.5 degrees Centigrade. This is just slightly below freezing. A much more manageable result. At this time Moderna has not announced any results but as part of Operation Warp Speed has already started manufacturing product.
The expectation for both vaccines is that they will be more effective than the flu vaccine. This is good news.
Both Vaccines require 2 shots
And there are others in the pipeline.
The double shots are a logistics problem. Two appointments will be required to achieve the desired result.
My Concern is How Long?
How long will it take to become immune? How long will the immune response last. I’ve heard 3-5 months. Again a logistic’s problem. Does that mean that a booster will be needed in 3 months time? A different vaccination? How will this work?
If it takes 9 months to vaccinate everyone.
By the time everyone is vaccinated, those of us who 1st got vaccinated will no longer be immune.
I Have More Questions than Answers.
But this is Good News
In the mean time.
