Not Certain What I’ll Say

But I thought I would just ramble a little. For those of you who have followed my blog, you know my feelings on the coming election. I believe any result which doesn’t elect Joe Biden will mean the end of our democracy.

I started with a review of the Mueller Report, which I read. http://nobodyretires.com/index.php/category/politics/ From the beginning I felt Attorney General William Barr and Donald Trump misrepresented the report.

COVID-19 and the coronavirus have been a frequent discussion of mine. http://nobodyretires.com/index.php/2020/10/07/coronavirus-history/ I’ve believed since about 2 weeks after Trump started his daily briefings that he has mishandled the virus. His discussing of possible treatments and cures has hurt our response.

His downplaying of the usage of masks, has been close to criminal http://nobodyretires.com/index.php/2020/08/25/mask-mandates/ and increased our infection rate a lot. People have died because of Donald Trump’s ineptitude.

So I’m reminiscing…

This week I found out a brother-in-law with Alzheimer’s living in a nursing home has COVID. He is now in isolation and my sister is in quarantine. I’m worried for both of them. Their granddaughter has recovered from COVID, but has had lingering issues.

My siblings are spread out, between Maine, Massachusetts, Virginia, Alaska. I’m in Florida hoping my vote helps swing this state to the Democrats. It is actually one of the reasons, I moved from Tennessee, where there is little hope to change the insanity. I wish all my siblings well.

My concerns on the coronavirus long term…

I worry that since the coronavirus is related to the common cold, that we may never be truly over COVID. This may linger for decades. A vaccine is important, but may need to be re-administered periodically. That makes safety a greater concern.

Reports of people getting infected more that once, is alarming. Trump calling himself superman is scary. While I don’t have access to leading medical experts, herd immunity, sounds like herd insanity to me.

And so I ramble…

I have no good answer before November 3rd. It is scary that Donald Trump still has supporters and the election is still considered close.

I’ll still try to have my say. I hope others have found my thoughts useful.
