A Ceremonial Promotion
What does this say about the Republican Party…
A few weeks after Marjorie Taylor Greene calls for a ‘national divorce’ between the red and blue states. She is honored by the current speaker of the house with the mostly honorary position of Speaker Pro Tempore and allowed to preside over a session of the house. This is the state of the republican party.
These are also the same people calling the United States the greatest country in the world. Shame.
This supports my argument for voting Democratic.
The current republican party supports individuals such as Marjorie Taylor Greene, Donald Trump, and Ron DeSantis. These individuals all have something in common. A willingness to divide us. In Marjorie Taylor Greene’s case between red and blue; Donald Trump between the haves and the have nots; and Ron DeSantis between WOKE and the non WOKE.
In all cases, it makes this country weaker and not stronger. Dividing us makes us fight between each other, which will never make us stronger unless we can come to a mutual understanding. In all three instances, the willingness to compromise is not present. In all three cases the policies advocated are divisive and make us as a country weaker.
The current republican party empowers divisiveness. Are there good republican representatives and senators? Absolutely. But at this point, these republicans enable the worst positions advocated by the party. Compromise and balance is lost totally. Until the republican party is put in shambles and reconstituted, I personally can not vote for a good republican over a bad democrat.
The stakes are just too high.
The Extremes of the Republican Party must be defeated.
According to Wikipedia “WOKE obtained the meaning of ‘politically and socially aware’ among BLM activists. Most American’s would support the concept of being WOKE. The republican party couldn’t stand supporting any concept supporting BLM, so they needed to usurp the ‘WOKE’ concept.
They added to the definition, awareness of transgender issues, LGBTQ issues and attached them to the WOKE agenda. This redefinition of the word WOKE makes it objectionable to more people. It makes it more appealing to create policies which make being ‘politically and socially aware’ less accessible.
The affect is the Republican Party has demonized being ‘WOKE’
I would argue for democracy to work, we as a people must be more ‘politically and socially aware.’ not less.
This has happened before…
The republican party demonized socialism by equating it to communism. Today, most Americans do not wish to create socialistic institutions base on this definition. Because of this our health care system has suffered for generations.
It is easy for those which have resources to obtain quality health care. Those resources include money or an advocate to overcome red tape. But to those without such resources, obtaining needed health care can be difficult. Today insurance companies often times sit between the patient and needed health care advocated by doctors. A single payer health care system can resolve this conflict.
This is a case where socialism works better than capitalism.
Another example is liberal.
Webster’s definition of liberal is found here. Possible synonyms include generous, open-minded. Republican rhetoric considers liberal to be a dirty word.
I can think of little now that I would value more than being liberal. Our country has serious problems in the area of health care and immigration among others. While espousing easy answers might get someone elected. True long term solutions require an ability to think outside the box.
Solutions won’t be found without open discussion. Do democrats need to hear conservative views. Absolutely. But open-minded individuals adjust when others present reasonable arguments. Conservative leaning on authoritarian individuals expect others to bend to their will without question.
In today’s environment too many republicans are unwilling to compromise. And the rest of the republicans enable the bad apples.
